The memorial in the church yard honors the ones fallen in the War of Independence and
in the I World War. Having been destroyed during the Soviet time, it was restored and
reopened in 1989. The church itself, one of the smallest in Estonia, is built in the first
quarter of the 14th century. The church is one of the demure places A. H. Tammsaare’s
epic novel “Truth and Justice” takes place at.
