The building of the church started in the end of the 13th century. The tower that got its
current look in 1868 is the highest in Järva county -- 67 meters – plus it has thick walls
indeed which reminds us that in need the Medieval churches were used as shelters or
forts as well. There are a number of Medieval gravestones in the church too.
