Services

Viru bog’s nature learning path is 3.5 kilometers long and trafficable in every season. It introduces bog plants, sand dunes and peat shale that used to be there and how the shale has influenced the local environment. The wooden path has a watchtower by its side.
 

Amenities:
The boardwalk of the trail is renovated in 2013 with the help of ERDF: the trail is accessible by wheelchair (also with pram) up to the tower – 1410 metres (800 m of gravel cover and 610 m of wide boardwalk). The boardwalk may be slippery when wet.
The trail is supplied with the information boards.
 
Camping facilities:
Camping and campfire on Kalmeoja campfire site.
 
Wheelchair accessibility:
The trail is accessible by wheelchair until the observation tower (1410 m). 
The observation towers first platform is accessible by wheelchair with assistance. 

Dry toilet accessible with wheelchair in the beginning of the trail.

Location:
Starts on Tallinn–Narva road, drive 1 km towards Loksa. 
 
Driving directions:
Drive 52 km on Tallinn–Narva road (Road no. E20), turn left (sign “Võsu 22, Loksa 15”). Drive 1 km to the parking area to the right of the road (sign “Viru raba”). The trail starts from the parking area.
