Lohu I stronghold, Lohu Jaanilinn, Castrum Lone in the Chronicles of Henry of Livonia, one of the central fortresses in ancient Harju, located 1 km to the north from the former Lohu manor, on the eastern bank of the Keila River at a height of 3 m on the bank.
About 5000 square meters; a 4-5 m wall covered with a cultural layer surrounds the yard of the fortress in the shape of a horse shoe from west, north and east. The dry brick wall has probably been supported by log constructions. In the northern and eastern side the outer side of the wall has a 20-25 m wide and 2 m deep flat basin and in the outer edge a 2 m high undefined wall-like riprap, most likely natural.
The entrance is in the southeastern side. Next to it, in the eastern side of the fortress, there was probably a tower-like structure, called in the chronicle as summitas munitionis.
