Opposite to "being on the way", there is "patos" - a small path, describing a mental journey inside our minds, into our memories and visions. So may some steps, taken from the church door to altar, accompanied by a silent prayer, offer us a meeting with it, that says "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
