Pühalepa church is the oldest building in Hiiumaa. It was probably in the 13th century
when it was erected. Though severely damaged by the Russians in 1575 the marvelled
altar of Holy Anna from 1460 survived. The church was turned into a warehouse after
the II World War but re-inaugurated in 1993.
