There are several hundreds of terracotta figures on the walls of this 14th century built
church which make it unique not only in Estonia but in the whole of Europe. Most of
the figures inside were found old fashioned during the Antique exaltations in the 19th
century and were removed. Later restorers managed to scrape out the figures hidden
under grout.
