The church is situated in Lasva village in Võrumaa and was built in 1880. Simple but colorful historicistic church features some unique tapestries, blending well into the scenic Võru landscape. 

One of the few sacral buildings in Haanja area, the Plaani church, originates from the Tsarist era and symbolizes the multilateral christianising of Estonia. The church was built in 1874, it has a Greek-cross ground plan and five onion domes.
